Lol funny if it comes to that kinda #### in bobtailing out and won't stop till the trucks dead or I'm at my house.
You also ain't walking 30miles a day out of a city on fire. That's how you get killed.
Hell you'd be better off hiding in a truck stop parking lot or rest area

But if you accept the risk a firearm is a handy tool.
If it gets so bad you're worried about having to walk out, I'll already be keeping an oh #### bag and a rifle in my truck lmfao

A friend who's not anti-gun swore he'd never own a gun himself was talking about this back during y2k. He bought himself a generator, food storage and all the bells and whistles for a SHTF scenario. Everything but a gun.
I asked him what he'd do if someone was to try and take it from him. He said probably die because he would never take another's life. I pointed out that ment watching his son starve to death. Next thing I know he bought himself a gun.

So what dose this have to do with you? If SHTF so bad you're walking 30 miles a day you'll run into people who'll desperately need what you have. Remember your life is meaningless to them compared to their kids. If you're not prepared to defend yourself just stay with the truck with the curtains drawn. You'll have a better chance of survival.

As a former Boy Scout, I’m all about being prepared, but the odds on a complete breakdown of society requiring traveling home on foot are so vanishingly small that we’re more likely to find Jimmy Hoffa’s remains, or eat just one Lays potato chip, or eat so much food that there’s no room for Jello.

As much as your post made me chuckle, I wonder. The big unknown for me is whether or not our NG and armed forces would fire on their countrymen. It's happened before.

I always carried a "stay out" bag when i ran a daycab for a company run that always seemed to think 16 hrs was a good normal day but you had to still do your 14/11 by the book...

Change of Clothes, book, brick charger for 110, sometimes my laptop. Spare Lighter/pack of ciggarettes. And of course my wallet, thermos and coffee.

Ended up using it a quite a few times
Once for weather, 6 times cause the unload/reload end was slow + traffic. I also refuse to let THEM put me up in a hotel after the first time, was 30 minutes from where i parked truck and then i had to pay uber/cab fare to/from hotel to be reimbursed, for the amount they saved, negative 45$... didnt make much sense. Just submit receipts and stay in a better hotel

It should not be an unknown, the past two years show the police perfectly willing to imprison and brutalize people for thought crime. That you think the national guard would be better shows a naivete that's not going to serve you well.

If you want to argue that theyre "just following orders". yes, that IS the problem.
If you want to argue that the past 2 years is a special case or that you agree with the reasons THIS time, i dont know how to reach you.

Too much assumption there to even waste my time providing a reply.
