Always the best info from “when I was there” “I heard “ “ my friends friend told me”
The best info comes from people that never leased to LS.

I'm currently at landstar. It took about 4 months from the time I applied til the time I was in orientation, but during those 4 months I was purchasing my first truck and everything that went with that. I'm pulling a landstar leased flatbed. Ive only dealt with landstar direct shippers and 1-2 calls a week will say the load is already covered.., but plenty of loads to find something that fits my needs.
Landstar doesn't bother me. I think they've called me once in the 8 months I've been leased on. It was to re-scan a BOL. They have a very user friendly system set up. See a load, call on it, negotiate rate, hit the road. Works extremely well for me. They have good fuel discount at ta/Petro..50 cents or so off posted price. If you have any specific questions feel free to pm me
Edit: just seeing another post and just wanted to add, I've never sat on a load. Maybe because I'm pulling a flatbed but I've always dropped a load and had my next load already booked. No waiting around a day or two to get unloaded or loaded. I've gone to Laredo a few times in the past few months and got loaded within 2-3 hours. Maybe that's a dry van thing? I'm not sure about that side of landstar's business.Last edited: Sep 25, 2021

All being fair, not much wrong with landstar. I was leased there almost 11 years(left 2 years ago) I opened my own authority and my own customers..... its far better than Landstar.
I think those with their own authority say landstar sucks because for the most part in dealing with them, LOTS of their agents do suck.Last edited: Sep 25, 2021
