If anyone knows some good videos on how to install send them my way. Checked out one that I could find but didn’t show anything other than how it goes up and from 20’ away

Changed out the springs and adjusted the hood on my 89 model 379 and it opens easily with one hand standing on the ground now.

On my w9 I put white springs vs brown. I had. Now you can open the hood with a pinky. If you close it too hard it’ll spring back open on its own lol.

I think i may have put the short hood springs on mine, cant remember for sure. They are blue. Remember back when they had the air assist deal and it didnt hold up very well, cylinders would leak, probably why they stopped it and went back to springs. Was cool though when it worked.

Doesn’t seem to hard to do according to the pics from that post. Just have to see if I have the inner hood support to mount it to. Thanks guys

I have blue springs on mine. Anyone have an idea which ones would be the equivalent to the white versus brown on a KW?

If the springs are much shorter than the blue ones you may have trouble getting the hood to stay closed. I usually rock it about half way back and let it go and it closes good and stays there. If i ease it down i have to push it the rest of the way closed.

I could handle that bjrc. I just found a system with a remote control on my iPad but can’t seem to bring it up. It’s from Hoodxpress. Guy was also about 20’ feet away and it worked beautifully. Went on google and brought it up in images but can’t seem to find it anywhere. Dated 2009

There was a lady that came to our shop years ago with a 379 that had some type of electrical motor that was made to open the hood. I just did a search. It is called Hood Express. But apparently they are no longer in business. A search came up with a site that is not theirs but appears to be. It is not legit. All of the sites I came up to while searching for this came back bad. Possibly bad that if you click on anything it might load something on your computer. I did not go that far and I have security systems on my laptop. So stay away.
