Comical yes, but I have a few(very select few)co-workers who still use them and I would've never guessed it based on the sound quality and connection. Either way, the reason I ask, 2 years ago I disconnected from the social media world, no Facebook, no Insta, nothing. I have an IPhone 11 which has its perks, maps, weather, email, etc. But I have found myself more and more irritated and overwhelmed with the constant updates, constant IOS fixes for glitches and have seriously considered rejoining the year 2000. I'm home every night, the rare overnight happens, so I can check in here, and on emails thru a home computer. Obviously blue tooth compatible is a must to be hands free, other than that, pros, cons? I would like to find myself in simpler times away from the rat race of life and this may be the start i'm looking for, or it might be an utter fail.....who knows.

As long as your location can be determined, I don't see what difference it makes what type of phone you use. Having your location on in case of emergencies is very beneficial.

I pretty much run the same areas daily, everyone else in the house has smart phones, I just don't simply see the use in it for me anymore. I have a GPS, rarely go to a customer that I'm unfamiliar with, of course have emergency contacts set up through work, I'd like to think something simpler could simplify life a bit, but I'm sure it comes with its own set of head aches as well.

Actually have both, smart phone for ELD and flip as a phone. If you are considering going to a flip phone take a look at Sunbeam cell phones they offer 3 different models depending on how much you want to stay connected. Most flips the big box stores offer are not user friendly.

I'm not going to browse this forum on a flip phone, that's kind of what I'm shooting for. It's probably a pipe dream to revert back to those times, but like I said I'm home every night so I have the availability of the lap top at home for staying up to date here. The guys that I know at work who still use them, are the old timers, I was a hold out on technology for a long time but transitioned in to it like everyone else, I'm only wondering if it's feasible to go back to simpler times and still feel connected with friends and family.

I don’t but I just bought five of them for a group of old farts, they didn’t get the iPhone thing and was going to actually throw out their iPhones 12 (really they were) so I traded them for their phones, these are all new lg with 4g.

    I DO...!!

    been over a month now.

i had gone "toe to toe" with AT&T when they kept saying that i had until Feb 2022, to change my 3G phone, cuz it'll stop working.

they "shut off" my phone, last month..!!!

said they wanted me to switch over NOW..!! WHAT HAPPENED TO FEB of 2022..???

so after screaming at the gal, she turned my phone back on!

then i went the very next day to Verizon, and got a new Nokia flip phone (i had an AT&T flip phone), and this new one has a lot of features, like texting, internet, etc, etc. and it's 4G.

shutting me off, way before the time, was a big NO-NO that AT&T could have ever done.

I just switched over to verizon after about a 22 year run "transition" from Nextel, to Sprint, to the forced T-Mobile merger. Sprint was never great, but it was predictable, T-Mobile didn't excite me, especially after I was told the same thing, that my less than 2 year old IPhone 11 would become antiquated with the roll out of their 5G network, unfortunately the 11's are only 4G compatible. Either way, Verizon showed me the Nokia you're referencing and it got me thinking, I'm going to give them a few weeks on the current technology and see how their network is and go from there, I imagine I would save quite a bit of money on my monthly plan with the Nokia.
