Yes. I went to hoodxpress and it came up with oven hoods. Disappointing. Looked like it worked pretty well

Check the J brackets and pivot bushings as well as the top hood rest on fire wall. If it’s adjusted properly you can open and close it with 1 hand. My 91 was a little hard to open till the body shop at Joplin Peterbilt worked on it.

Thanks wore out. I’ll check into that also. Don’t think they’ve ever been changed

One of the j brackets on mine wore through the bushing and egg shaped the hole. I saw how high they were and decided to tig up the hole and redrilled the bracket put in new bushings new springs and adjusted every thing. Made a huge difference.

I have time on my hands right now so I’ll do some shopping around. Went to a local truck parts guy the other day for an exhaust hanger. Was ss for $245. I backed out of there like he had a gun pointed at me. Researched on line found it for $135. Free shipping. In stock too.

How about heavier duty gas cylinders? Some give much more assist than others. Better yet use a air lift as we had on cabovers for lifting cab.. Weekend project.
