I kind of have to agree. I enjoy working for Werner more now that I have got off of 48 state and on to Family Dollar. There was no way to make a living on 48 state( or atleast i couldn't). So yes, i guess i enjoy it now because i hardly even deal with werner. We got 3 werner employees that work at the odessa dc and we deal strictly with them. And one of the best thing's are is i stay OUT of werner terminals. Our dispatchers even want us to avoid them.

Ok, I have posted on here several times recently about various things, and read a ton.
I was on the road for several years, came off for a local gig, now back out hauling cars. I love being back on the road as I thought I would, but this small company cant seem to make payroll. He didnt pay me last week and this week he paid me half, said he would make it up next week. Well the bill collectors really dont care that he has money trouble. I was going to try to stick it out for 6 months or so, so I can get hired with a better company. However, I cant do it anymore, I have to get paid.
I called Werner and they scheduled me for orientation for friday of this week. They will pay 400 a week for 140 hours, that is only 3 weeks with a trainer. seems funny, but if that is the rules I will play by them.

I here a ton of negative about werner, but is it because they do have so many new guys that just dont know what they are getting into when they enter the field? I will be running otr 48 states no canada, and really dont have to have be home often, it is more important that I get home a certain time of month to pay bills and such. I also hear of guys that run hard, and are happy, of course we all think we are that type of person, but I really am. I average 3500 miles per week. Can I expect to gain the trust of my dispatcher and get 2500+ miles per week? Thanks for everyones advice.:biggrin_25523:

well im at werner and fairly happy. Don't forget that that $400 a week doesnt include taxes and that it is expensive to be on the road. On a bad week I get 1800 miles, on a good week, 3500 or so. :)
