I prefer the 579. It looks better than T680. Has classical look. Uses the classic sleeper what would outside like 379 or 389. The T680 needs a visor and so as T700.

It's no wonder the T680 reviews are not terribly good. You can't mass produce a truck like they have the last year in massive numbers and keep the build quality where you'd like it. These trucks have came out of nowhere the last year and you seem them in MASSIVE numbers. Anything you see in massive new quantities like we saw with the cascadias and now the T-680's is going to suffer in overall build quality.

I will keep and rebuild my 2007 379 until I decide to order a new 389 , from what I have been told is they are not going to be mass produced soon but if you want one you will pay a premium for it. As long as I can buy one with an engine that won't break my ...all and is proven , then I'll do it. If not I'll just keep rebuilding what I have!

If you think of taking 389, buy gliders. Check at truckpaper. Some of them have C-15 or Detroit 12.7.

What was cause of your shakes at those speeds? I am driving a 2015 579 like to know what to tell the shop that may help them fix issue as they seem to be guessing to at this point.

And 9 years later here are the new version of these models. Most of the things are still the same. Still I prefer the T680. Although with the Ultraloft the aerodynamic advantage is probably less now, but still there. Also I hate in the 579, the bunk door is one piece with the tool box door... So far not a single person likes that. Also a big issue for me, the fridge is on the passenger side, opening from the bed side.... Do I supposed to stop and go to the bunk to pick a sandwich or a drink from the fridge??

The bunk door is like that for an emergency exit. I suppose is could be 2 seporate doors but would definitely cost more.

If you are in the bunk and wanted some food or something to drink, my guess is you would have the same complaint that the fridge door opened wrong. Cant make everyone happy.

The T680 has the two separate doors what serves the purpose and much more convenient. The draw style fridge also solved the reaching issue from either side. Said that, the Pete 579 is more attractive truck and the dash design is nicer. After the new design I still believe the T680 has the aerodynamic advantage, but I can not find any data about it. So, for me to choose the T680 is no brainer. The only thing make me hesitant, there is a small Pete dealership locally, and for the KW part usually I have to wait a day.
