The funiest incident I had with a Ark DOT was when I had a steady run from Naples Tx EL Dorado ARK . It was about 1:30 AM and had not met anybody I mean empty road so I was hammering on it something like 68MPH I rounded a curve and topped hill at the same time all I saw was a W/S full of blue lights, Well crap I thought hit 4 ways and found a spot to pull over on the Hwy got out of the truck and walked back to trooper car and asked them what the Hel* they were doing out here at this time of the morning ? told them that people in their right mind would be in bed .He laughed and ask what my hurry was told him I was trying to get to the asphalt plant before they shut down for the morning gauging . He gave me my licence back and said please slow it down . I said YES SIR and I did when I was in his section . I jhave learned to try to treat people as I would want them to treat me works 95% of time the other 5 % you are dealing with just plain as* holes . Any way Happy New Yr to all and DB you be safe out there .

I have never acted that way even as a rookie. I was always polite and did my best to show that I was very concerned with safety. Always have been. Maybe it came from hauling nukes. My last company we had a very good working relationship with the state. We even would help in their training by suppling a truck with an OSS test our mech would hide. I've never been pulled over in a gasoline tanker in fact the last time I got pulled over was way back in the late 70's and the state trooper only pulled me over then went away. I guess he was showing me he had me or was called away I don't know. Attitude is part of the job and anyone that doesn't think is not a professional in my book.

Oregon DOT used my husband's truck for training every chance they got! LMAO! Got to where he knew the training officer by name... Funnier than Hell!

LOL ever think maybe....juuuust maybe that the attitude you portray in this post just might have something to do with your experience with law enforcement????

It is kind of a free pass!!! I'd joke with the officers all the time and turn it around and ask them what did they break on my truck. -
Yup, he did that too.... spent alot of time stting at the scales outside Portland, drinking coffee, eating homemade donuts and shutting the bull... (And they were ALWAYS homemade donuts!)

Mine was the POE at the ID and WA line. Everytime I went in there they pulled me around back. Thats was every week-lol... I told them "do you have an employment application, I'm in here so much I might as well get paid for it"
