Moving sucks. I moved last year and the only fun part was the 6 hour drive. Music on and just relax.

well, the way I see it I have 2 choices (both suck) assuming it is fact worse case scenario. Worst case scenario is having Detroit build me a new crate motor - the timeline on that is going be anywhere from 5 weeks to who the hell knows.
Option 1
I can sit at home while the entire mess plays out and lose a ton of money in payments and no income
Option 2
I can buy a temp truck and run it until mine is repaired. How like hell the truck does not have a breakdown. Then Sell that truck when mine is finally repaired. In this option I can lose money in more creative ways. I could also maybe break even if I get lucky.
not sure what I will do - I need a 4 axle truck and those are hard to come by at a price that fits the temporary truck strategy. I have a line on a tridrive in northern Washington possibly but it is a huge gamble. The upside to this is the ability to service my wind gig if there is a project that comes up. If I sit home and get the call - I may be screwed in a much more expensive way going forward.
long winded way of saying - I am not sure but whatever I do - it will the wrong choice. -
Kinda between a rock and a hard place. I feel for ya. It's hard to know the way forward, when there isn't a clear path with good options. You'll figure it out. Heck, with the way truck prices are going, if you buy one now.....you can prolly make a profit when you sell. Seems like they are going up in value by the day! Good luck brother.

If it's on the east side "I know a guy" that's a shop manager at a big trucking outfit that might go and look it over for you. Really knows his stuff. [edit: he's in Pasco)

You’re definitely not alone. Mine goes back in Monday to have the head pulled off and new head gasket. Less than 40k and a full in frame. Thankfully it’s all under warranty, but warranty doesn’t pay my bills.

I'm on the other side looking in, it's everywhere now. Guy pays $1,800 dealer service call out of Spokane + hours on-site, + parts to fix a problem that didn't exist. Crew went out the next day and all it would do is idle. I hooked it up and fiddled with it vroom-vroom. Closest I've ever been to being kissed by a man.

will do. I out a call into my truck dealer in Auburn and he might have a guy up that way the owns a shop.
I can’t really do anything until I get the official diagnosis.Lostkeys, cke, PoleCrusher and 6 others Thank this.
