Yea Walter is still up there. The company definitely has some issues, but I have been treated pretty fairly (for the most part) by them. I know drivers who have been outright screwed with them (comchecks for lumpers not getting refunded right away so a short pay week), loads not being paid, etc.... I also know drivers who haven't had a problem with them in anyway. I guess it all just depends on your luck with them more than anything else.

Yeah I guess it is luck and on how much you get paid per mile. Talked to a guy the other day who was gettin .29 and he never sits still makes good miles and he says good money. I get .35 and can't get good miles for s**** and I know that I can run about 3200 a week pretty easy. But it is what it is. An d there has been no bulletproof glass since I have been there either. And yes he dosen't even know the name of the town where the yard isWEEEELLLLL lets say not sure bout him.
-
Sorry everyone on the bullet proof glass... when i was there all the dispatchers was in another buliding beside the drivers building and it was a 2 story bulding if i remember correctly... and the side bottom door was always locked and during the day ... if your assigned dispatcher would talk to you... they would walk down stairs and stand outside to talk with you.... yes in the drivers buliding you can always walk up stairs and turn in your tip pacs and get a new dispatch.... as far as i'm not remembering the name of the town... unless you a looking at your log book... i bet you cant tell us the name of the town where you were at a month ago ... if you keep the wheels turning....
-
Logbook? What's that?!?

As far as where I was a month ago... same place I am now, Columbus, Ohio. Same place I will be after work today. Same place next week, next month, next year.... I love my local gig!
My time at FFE this past summer was pretty good. I was treated fairly, had a couple pay issues but got them handled in a timely manner. When you have a company that size and only a few people handling payroll I understand some things getting missed. I had a great fleet manager (Justin) and I think that makes all the difference in the world. I averaged OK miles, nothing stellar, but better than most right now.
But I gave it all up to haul gas again and be home everyday and have a guaranteed paycheck.
Beechvtail Thanks this. -
LMAO 1 month ago I was in Little Rock, AR. I had just came from City of Industry CA.
sorry fraud I can remember now only where I have been, but the routes I have taken and usually where I stopped for fuel or at the very least where I stopped for the night. And I would ###### sure be able to tell you the name of EVERY place I have worked for and my checks have came from for the last 10 years. -
I was with Lisa Motor Lines (owned by FFE). Lisa was fine. Courteous dispatchers/fleet mgrs. Then Lisa came under the auspisis of FFE and this is the worst job experience (trucking or otherwise) I've had in my life. Absolutely dumb dispatchers. Few miles. It seems they cut off your miles per week once you drive 1500 - 1800 miles. They will sit you for days by giving you a pre-plan days in advance, then won't pay for down time claiming you were under dispatch.
Also, all of the personnell at the office/yard will ignore your precence. If you happen to be at the yard and wish to speak to your dispatcher or whom ever, you must act a fool and throw a fit for them to acknowledge you. -
Gear you just had a crap FM sounds like. When I do go to the yard in Lancaster I am immediately spoken to by either Kenney (the local guy) or by my FM. As far as not getting layover pay while under dispatch, Unless I had a load on my back if I sat for 24 hours I got the pay.
I have also had my FM take me out from a load I arrived early, to get me going again. I was unable to make on time delivery the other morning in Denver due to my brakes being froze solid, when the DC I was to deliver to couldn't work me into the schedule, I was told to take the trailer to our Denver yard and get an empty. I was then DH to Dodge City to pickup my current load (waiting to deliver it in Atlanta). To top it off I was given a preplan to pickup tomorrow morning in Sylvester and deliver the 30th in Fort Worth. -
Are you speaking of the black man that works in safety at the desk in the drivers lounge? Not sure if that's his name. I tried to keep my distance other than my dispatcher Gary Patters. He was pretty cool. That guy in safety though. Oh lawd! Walk up to ask him for or about something and he would just sit there and look at you like your stupid. Turn around and pop off with an attitude. Tyler too. He's a jerk. Saw him come in one day yelling and cussing "I'm not gonna hunt down driver's no more. I don't get paid enough for that ####! If they need something they are gonna have to come find me!" Blah blah blah. Needless to say, I've alway's had to chase his ### down for a wash ticket and would spend up to an hour and finally learned if he's not in the shop or up in dispatch then wait in the drivers lounge or the smoking area.
He stayed pissed at me for the fact that I was the only person in my class to get a brand new truck which was a Lisa truck in white paint 29033. Pissed him off even more when he saw me back out of the wash bay and start polishing my wheels.
Seem's like #### near everyone around there has an attitude problem except the drivers. If your having a bad day around there and you run into a big ol' black guy, can't remember his name but I'm wanting to think it's Eddy, he's a trainer there. That boy will come up with some #### that will make you laugh so hard you'll get a headache. No BS. When you see and hear him you will know it! If your having a crappy ### day, just sit down and listen to some of the #### he pop's off with.
Ray in safety is someone else you want to avoid. And that dude, Chad head of security/safety, he strikes me as really "odd" person. -
Eddy is cool as hell not a trainer he runs LTL teams with his brother O.J. and they are fun to hang out with. Went over to O.J.'s house and we all had a BBQ and got drunk now thats the way to hang out!!!!!
-
That be him. I remember that day. I was sitting out there smoking and ######## about the LTL load they had me bring in and I was tired as hell drove all the way from the terminal in Memphis. Sat up all the day before waiting for the load then ran with it all night just able to get it there on time then they took all day to unload it. The BBQ yall went to was for a football game if I remember correctly. I said something about ol' gurl that pulled up and got out by the smoking area and I said "####!" He called her over and whispered something and I turned the coolest shade of red you ever saw. Even though I was tired hungery and pissed that still high lighted my day and made it better.
He said something about teaming with his brother but he did train because he was training this white kid that was a french fry short of a happy meal.
