that’s awesome. I admire that. I have done 1 load for JB Hunt. Wish I didn’t now.Boondock and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this.

When I first started I thought I would need them. Got set up with Hunt, Maverick, Prime, England, XPO, ATS and TMC. I did haul a couple for CRST because I used to be leased to them so dealing with their brokerage as an independent felt natural. But I quickly found out I never needed any of them! They all have bad contracts and/or poor credit too. Brokerage choices for Carriers are endless. No need to help your enemy grow stronger.

Do you just use load boards like DAT then?
Boondock Thanks this. -
Over the years, I've found ITS to have more freight options for open deck trailers and DAT seems to be better for vans and reefers.
-
Thank you sir, have been using a trial on DAT to get an idea of what's available. Starting on my own in the next 10 days so trying to get a feel for this in advance.
Admirable that you stay away from the large brokers. Would like to do the same but concerned about going a month with no revenue. Do smaller brokers offer some kind of split payment or quick payment like the bigs do? I don't want to discount all my payments, just need to get something rolling in sooner than net 30.ProfessionalNoticer Thanks this. -
There are tons of brokerages that offer quick pay. Many use TriumphPay and Truckstop's deal too. Of course, all the big players like CHR and TQL do as well. If you aren't able to wait for 30-60 days for your invoice payments you might want to consider stacking some more cash away before jumping out into the market. Or at least an LOC with your bank or even credit cards to carry you.
Just to clarify as you may have misunderstood my previous post, I have no problem with a brokerage size and have great relationships with brokerages of all sizes. My comments above were in regards to MEGA carrier's brokerages like JB Hunt, Maverick, TMC, Prime, ATS/Sureway etcétera. I won't haul for any of them.
I hope that helps.Patrick_C Thanks this. -
Thats how it used to be. Now they try to screw me on detention and tonu on half the loads that qualify for it. Jb hunt went down the hill hard in the last 2 monthsProfessionalNoticer Thanks this.

OK.
It is about the last time I booked a load from them.
Then they hid the load info, as I did not qualify as an elite carrier, so I was not allowed to see who the shipper/receiver was. I found it dumb and counterproductive. I don't win any bids there anymore, so I lost interest in 360 lately.
