what are you doing to entice drivers? benefits? faster trucks? long nose trucks? what are you having to do to get new, experienced, most importantly, good drivers?

There is nothing you can do but try and get lucky that the right eyeballs decide to act on your ad. My pay starts at over 80k guaranteed and immediate vacation and holiday pay. Nobody calls.
It’s dire for sure. I did manage to hire someone yesterday but it wasn’t off the ads. He just has driven by the yard for years and decided to stop in now that he’s ready to make a change. Lucked out.
Best thing you can do is retain those who you do have.
Edit: Thats also with pretty much all brand new owner op spec’d equipment. Nobody cares. I’ve also ran test ads starting at 100k to see what would happen. Same result, no calls.subseaguru Thanks this. -
Money's gotta be #1. Same as my truck shop was. As small as we were, there was no way to offer benefits. So you have to entice with a great work environment, and top $.
My guys made $52.50 per hr, and it was still not easy to find qualified techs.subseaguru Thanks this.
