Of course wellgolf, good luck to you now and especially on the 14th. School is almost ended and you're raring to go. I applaud your enthusiasm but as with everything in trucking stay safe. Also, any friends that you have made in school you might turn them onto this website . Like I said not so many posts before, the more the merrier.

    Speedy Delivery out.

Thanks I will go slow and safe. I will do my best to protect my DAC report and stay out of any trouble along the way. This thread is kinda buried on the welcome page, I have it on my quick links so I can find it. I have told many of my friends about this web site and they have looked around some.
Any way I hope to do well on my test and will let you know when I'm done and where I'm going.

I think that liteguy is still around, however, being that he said he would start school next month maybe he's waiting till he starts to post his goings on. My plans include blogging often before during and after school. But that's just me.

Liteguy is still around seeking information from other threads. I encourage all who read this to do the same. There is much to be gleaned. Some praise their employer, most other vent against them, but all postings offer something to be learned.

Hey, some idaho people here, kinda cool, If you guys want local work try the sand and gravel places, or maybe idaho concrete, drive a cement mixer. i have driven local and over the road, but i prefer local. that way i sleep in my bed every night and have a bathroom with in a few feet i can use during the night. I know with the recession local isnt good right now in our area, but then neither is over the road, especially with places like arrow shutting down and leaving 1400 drivers out of work. Let us all know how goes the schooling and where you go to work. If you go to may they have 30% idle time and charge you for fuel after that. I was told they will work with you if you call disptach, but who really knows. If you go to Cargo Express keep us informed how they are now and if they have changed for the better or if they are still a down hill company. Stay safe out there.

Hey I'm still here, just getting thru the family over for the holidays,
nice to see them, nice to see them go!

I will begin Monday morning, call the Idaho Dept. of labor, get an appointment and try to get a grant. [for school]
I have never been unemployed, never recieved any assistance from anyone so it seems kinda strange...not sure how long that will take 2-3 weeks??? then 4 weeks of training at Sage.
I plan to drive out to Payette and talk to May, and maybe by then W/S will be hiring out of Boise also Prime and Gordon are on my radar, looking for the best fit. I will be reading all I can until then- Liteguy

I dont know what to tell you on local as i am laid off. On tv the run the add for sage and you see the guy from idaho Concrete say they hire new people from sage. May also hires from sage as whats said on the add for sage on tv. There are 2 yards in boise for idaho concrete and one in eagle, so try those. If you go to payette to May, the office is on the right by the fuel pumps, talk to Vonnie, she is at the front desk or you can call her if you wish. Payette was looking for 5 drivers at a time, but i havent seen any ads for them in a few weeks. Right now the way the economy is for jobs, even for trucking all i can say is try everywhere you think might be a good fit for you, and make sure they have what you want as well as you have what the companies want. If i were to tell you a certain company was good or great and you went there just to find out it was a pos of a place to work for, i dont want you mad at me. Right now jobs are scarce, i guess take what you can get.
