Hi y’all,
Just bought a used T-680 and found this timer unit on the dash with a sticker by it saying that the timer automatically starts the heater. Says it’s for a fuel-operated heater…Does anyone know what purpose this would serve?? Maybe it’s obvious, but I’m at a loss….
Thanks for any help!!

Runs a block heater if unable to plug in the truck.
AIV LLC Thanks this. -
Its a fuel-fired coolant heater. Set it to turn on an hour or so before you plan on starting the truck on a cold morning and the engine will be warm and ready to start.

Thank you so much, that totally makes sense now. Funny all the little tricks of the trade that make life so much easier. If only more features like that came stock.

Most likely you also have a bunk heater as well if not I’d get one it’s the engine heater that’s costly. Between both you’ll sleep in comfort in winter plus save fuel.

Awesome, I’m actually not sure about the bunk heater, need to check on that. Thank you!!

Lift up your mattress and see what kind of heater is down there if you don't have an APU. Chances are it's a fuel powered bunk heater and they work great. I'll be using mine tonight in the mountains.

Google webasto diesel heater
My guess is also bunk heater
Make sure to look for it first before starting it a d also make sure it is free and clear of any blockage such as anything stored near it that would prevent air flowLast edited: Oct 3, 2021
