I had this really nice repost written and the site gave me error and I don't feel like typing all again. Long story short I've been with SAIA for 4 years top pay is . 725 cpm. I got hired in on a 1900 mile m-f bid run did that for 3 years before I got 2900 mile m-f run. First 3 years I made in the 78k-85k depending on how many Saturdays I ran. Now I'm over 110k. SAIA gets a bad rap on here because of the cameras but if you drive safe you will never hear a word from your TM about them. LTL gives the best pay and home time combinations in the trucking industry. Period. You want 6 figures and home everyday your only option is LTL or maybe some O/O with a sweet contract.
I know system guys that are making 150k but those guys are working 6 days a week living out of hotels, that ain't for me. I know some bid drivers that pull in 3000 miles for their bid and then pick up a 6th day every week so they can hit 130k all about the lifestyle you want. When I was on that small run I was only working 8-9 hours a day life was gravy but I wanted more money I'm perfectly fine working 10-11 hours a day for my pay.
The picture is our old pay scale we got a raise in August

Not as good as LTL but it works. The raise didn’t hit till July so next year I should be around 110k finish this year around 95k.

$27.50 hour for all hours logged in and paid 15 min before and after shift for pre/post trip

choose weekend shift to match wife. Off Tues/Wed
    $50 weekly attendance bonus
    $150 weekend bonus ever week.
$100 6th day bonus it’s voluntary until peak the it’s forced every other mandatory.

run a bid run everyday same ####.

5pm start bobtail to shoe carnival bring back loaded. Back at 6pm. Either lay down in sleeper and go to bed or go home eat and watch tv from 6-10pm. Hook doubles go to east nashville. Sleep from 1-3:15am. Then log out at 630 and go home.

    5days-$2070 gross
6 days 2300-2400. 6th day usually just linehaul only unless I want to do pickup first but I never do.

all and all not horrible for a ground contractor.

I do have assigned truck. 2020 Volvo sleeper.

Would it make sense to relocate a state away for a ups full time feeder position to start getting seniority. And the goal would be to transfer back home when I can with the seniority. Im not sure if it works like that. Theres a big terminal near me but not hiring and one is 3hr away. Or I may just wait and take the seasonal positions.

Seniority doesn’t go from one UPS location to another unless the work is transferred and that is extremely rare. If you could get the job that was hiring now and eventually the location near you hires “off the street”, you would be able to apply for that. More than likely if you did a good job at the first location they would hire you at the new location. You would have to quit the first location.

But just be aware that giving up seniority at the first terminal almost always leads to, "Man, if I'd just stayed at that terminal, I'd already be number XXX."

It does at my company after you’ve been at the new terminal for a year.
