9 speed trucks

    Always liked a 13 better than a 9 or 10. Those half gear drops pullin heavy uphill made all the difference..

    I drove a 9spd OTR, it was fine. I wouldn't have an issue purchasing a truck with one.

    The Mack 6 speed was a bulletproof transmission. The problem was trying to teach drivers who weren’t familiar with it to slow down and shift it slowly. Speed shifting was a no no!
    And being able to float shift helped tremendously.

    You were lied to then. We have 13’s behind paccars and have no issues.

    the convertible 9/13’s are for resale. Run a 9 speed so you can hire guys that can’t figure out how to split gears. Then convert it to a 13 when it comes time to sale it.

    Glorified 10 speed.
    Still like mine though since its rare.
