It's a 1LW. No shut down solenoid. Do you get a check engine light when you turn the key switch on?

Runs on either then dies I'm guessing electrical. Either engine electrical (sensors) or not getting correct power to the ECM. I've had both happen.

x2 or x3 I lost count your 1LW does NOT have a shut down solenoid. Your generic freightliner diagram may have that as an option but it's not on the 1LW

Pull the filter out of the davco and see if they left the old filters center rubber gasket on the stand pipe If they left the rubber seal/gasket from the old filter on the center standpipe it will do this.

No, the check engine light stopped coming on when the no start problem occurred , that is the first thing we noticed

No check engine light during the system check when you first turn the key on? Check ECM constant power, keyed power and ground.

I didn't think it had a shutdown solenoid ( I couldn't find one) but I wasn't sure what exact model it is, and I'm not familiar with this engine. I have only seen this truck once and that was yesterday and only know a bit of it's history.

Thanks, I'll see if I can get a wiring diagram of the ECM connector pins. I only have four IGN fed breakers in the truck and those wires are numbered but as for constant power, I'll have to trace that.
I do know that there is a problem in the solenoid that mounts on the firewall ( looks like a Ford starter solenoid) as the owner has two of the terminals jumped.
Where is a good source for a diagram?
