2006 Thermoking Tripac Issue

I have strong feeling alternator connected in reverse polarity.

 

You also should have a wire to the B+ on the alternator and a ground.
Use a multimeter and check voltage at battery and B+. If more than a couple tenths difference check all connections and wiring from there to battery for damage. There’s a wire in the harness you mentioned that goes to the B+. It should be the same voltage as the B+.

 

did you put it on yourself. if so then my money is on the belt is to tight

 

Check the alternator fuse. On the old ones there is a maxi-fuse holder (50A) in the main battery lead to the alternator that gets crusty and burnt up. Originally it's located in a hard to access location down low inside the case. The service kit relocates it to the top of the case, and comes with the necessary pieces to mount it.

Also check your battery cable terminals on both ends. There are 6 ends to check (3 cables, either 1 or 0 AWG so big ones). Battery + to starter solenoid, starter solenoid to alt B+ (has 50A fuse), and battery neg to engine ground. Don't just "look" at them, take them off, clean them, if you see any moss growing where the crimp is, replace the terminal.

 

also check the battery cable going to the main battery on the truck. if this battery is going bad or has issues. then apu can throw Alt code too.

the very first thing is to confirm there is an actual voltage problem AT THE BATTERIES
