Fuel getting close to $1.50/L now in spots, rates are at or even below last year at this time. With the oilpatch starting to warm up again it looks like parking the truck and working for someone else for a while is going to be the way to go this winter. Too expensive to run 8 axles at 4mpg or less.

Yes, I’m putting in my 30 day notice this week. Although in my case I was planning on retiring anyway. Looks like my timing is good.

    Grain on the prairies.
Not going to be much to haul by spring when the bins are all empty.

Was up until 2015 when Trudeau was first elected, the oil patch collapsed, then all those idle trucks came and took our fertilizer loads and drove down the rates.
Generally average about $3.00 a mile, but some runs are only $2.27. Which really sucks for super-b when fuel alone is over $1.10 per mile expense. We actually get a tonne/mile rate, but that’s what it averages out to over a year.
