Fist off it's freightshakers not shakeliners. Freightliners are the cheap trucks. Hence the amount of them and the fact that every major fleet is made up of them. I've owned my share, but, you get what you pay for. The bad thing is if you buy used that's what you get,USED.

I bought used and have had no major problems with my truck, unless you call having to replace the flasher unit a major problem. I wouldn't have had to do that if it weren't for my new trailer that has more lights than a Christmas tree. I get between 5.75 and 7.63 as far as mileage goes. It's got a Detroit and 10 speed. Nothing fancy. Had an oil analysis done before purchasing.
Sure, I'll be upgrading in 2010 and I've looked at other makes and models, but Freightliner rises to the top when economy and reliability are factors. Big fleets run them, yes, their affordable to obtain, but most important is their reliability because a truck makes money when it's running and not in the shop!ampm wayne, Hedon and PaulE Thank this. -

You sound like my wife....
She always talks about write-offs...write-offs. I tell her "We don't need the write-offs, we need the income!" -
Ain't that the truth! It seems that all we can make is what we save these days.
