Reviving an old topic. Things have changed a lot since 2018 haven’t they? ALL TA’s, Petro’s are now pay to park in at least 80% of their spots, Pilot/FlyingJ is pay to park in about 60% of their lots and these are one of many reasons I don’t use TA/Petro or PFJ. Their fuel is watered down, their staff is rude, their showers are tiny, their point system is a joke (use it or lose it in 60 days).
You want large lots with 90% free parking, large clean HOT showers, decent meal, and points that are good until you use them? Start using Love’s! Now I know the east coast is kinda SOL as they are far and few, but the rest of the civilized country they are all over. Never paid for a spot to park. OHHH and another note, it’s no longer $20-$25 they raised it to $40 to park near any major hub.
No way around pay to park at TA?

Where the hell are you running. I have never encountered 60-80% paid parking besides in the center of major cities? When I end up in Southern California, I expect to pay to park at the TA or Petro in Ontario. A $25.00 purchase in the store covers my parking. I buy a couple of packs of smokes and a couple sodas, present the receipts on the way out and head on my way. Learn to park 20-30 miles away from the giant $#!tholes that we call "Metropolitan Areas". A little trip planning goes a long way!tscottme, JoeyJunk and Elroythekid Thank this.
