Some motors prefer particular brands of oil. Shouldn't make a difference really if using right spec oil but a motor will use oil with one brand and not another, or fuel mileage will go down. No rhyme or reason that I know of. Guess some motors are just picky

That would be a thrid different oil in a row. Even thou its only a weight difference. Do I have to worry about that little bit that doesn't drain out?

Mine came with Delo on the frame as well. Cummins has partnered up with Valvoline so that is what they are now pushing. One hand washes the other?

    Engines are particular to oil.

An 04 isx I once drove loved delvac and delo. Hated everything else. The frame had a delvac sticker.

The 12 isx I'm driving now has a delo sticker. It don't like delvac at all.

Sounds like what's happening is when he drains the oil he puts the plug back in soon as the oil stops then puts the spec amount of oil back in. There is likely a gallon of oil still in the motor that hasn't drained. Let the oil drain over night and fill with the spec amount and it would likely be right at the full mark.

When you take your truck in for a service.

Do they keep it over night over the bay?
