Pretty small time stuff. 210 loads in a season. The big logging contractors can pump that much wood out in 2-3 work weeks.

Growing up we had a wood cook stove for years in the utility room as we called it. Winter days were great when you come in, and aunt Winnie had a big cast iron pot full of beans or chili on it. She would fry potatoes on it as well, just no comparison in taste….! -

Yup, they're hard to beat. We live in a big farmhouse, heat it with wood, no gas or oil. We run that one on one side of the house, and another wood stove on the other side. I can cook better with the kitchen queen than the electric one. Use it enough and you just know where to keep the skillet or pot for just the right amount of heat, plus the 1" pipe in the firebox is piped to a 40 gallon thermos bottle for hot water.
We added a pellet stove for this time of year when you don't need to run the wood stoves. I'm running way behind this year on getting the wood in, the phone keeps ringing and truck keeps moving...singlescrewshaker, cke, beastr123 and 8 others Thank this. -
How is the missus doing?singlescrewshaker, cke, DeereRunner97 and 4 others Thank this.

Yeah, red oak acorns are the bitter ones, good for tanning hides though. White oak acorns are the sweet ones, good for flour in a pinch. You probably have both down your way. Up here, white oaks are few, too cold I guess...singlescrewshaker, cke, DeereRunner97 and 4 others Thank this.

No, Kitchen Queen, 460 model I believe. Years ago, we looked at the PP but the KQ has a slightly larger firebox, but other than that they are both similar, can't go wrong with a PP..singlescrewshaker, cke, DeereRunner97 and 4 others Thank this.

With parts being so hard to find I'm starting to feel like a drug dealer "I'm hurtin' for an ABS relay valve, you holdin'?"
Pre-'95 truck & trailer, paper logs (1 + 2 under the seat), XP3 flip, paper maps stuffed over the visor a guy might be able to keep the wheels turning.
Until the tires wear out.singlescrewshaker, cke, clausland and 9 others Thank this.
