I'm a current driver with Variant under US Xpress. And I can tell you Variant isn't like any other company. I have been doing this work since 2007 everything from oil fields where your not sure you will have a job in 3 months, to pulling reefers being stressed out to push hours because the trailer temp is off, doing flatbed trapping in the freezing rain and being a lease driver. It's all work but I can tell you it's not like Variant yeah it's some of the same BS like hunting down a empty trailer after a drop but hell all miles are paid or getting stuck with a appointment delivery time. But I can say the system they use with your home time is great it calculates the hours you have available. This is the new innovativation of driving you accept the the load that's available closes to you, no dispatchers playing favorites just you and your truck. Like I said no BS. It's minimum 12 days out and 2 day home or 1 week vs 1 day off if you want to run more, and you can select where you want east west mid whatever just send the macro in advance. If you want to be home every weekend great and I understand but if you want to make some money check it out. If your a good driver and not a slacker you can ask me any questions and I'll help you out. Also Variant has a $2500 transition bonus meaning after your first run you will receive it. I believe there taking 1 year OTR verified at a lower mile rate I believe it's .54 or .56 but after 90 days you get bumped up to the .60 that the 2 year OTR start at.

It's a large base company using US Xpress accounts and more there all over, you can can text me at Deleted if you have questions. Actually anyone can just general questions about the industry for new drivers too. I know it can be stressful to figure out what direction to go in especially when starting. Remember I'm a driver to so can't respond immediately.

    APU in Every Truck
No more worrying about whether or not you can idle. Every new truck in our fleet has an APU, so you can power the lights, A/C, and other electronics.
    Refrigerator Comes Standard
Every cabin comes complete with a spacious minifridge, microwave cabinet space and matching cabinetry.

    No more BS?
2 weeks out, 2 days home?
1 week out, 1 day home?
Sounds like the same old BS to me.

But, if you're happy, drive on.
    Good luck

Is there a max with taking truck home for hometime? Do you keep the same truck or would you be required to clean out truck at some point if taking more than X days?

Do trucks come with inverters? What’s the pet policy? is there a pet weight limit?

2 days home after 2 weeks out doesn't sound like any kind of improvement ..... Neither does .60 cents per mile. Seems pretty common
