Your right. I delivered steel to Great Dane in Statesboro, GA last month. The guy that unloaded me said that the amount of trailers being produced by them has been cut in half because of the employee and material shortage.
Will Trailer prices drop?

They might just be claiming it’s materials shortages , why increase production when you’re making huge huge huge profits on the trailers you’re making ?
why make 10 trailers a day when you can get the same profit from making 3 trailers a day? Since if you make 10 a day the price will drop ?ProfessionalNoticer, Bean Jr. and shooter19802003 Thank this. -
I
I disagree completely with that theory.. the price of the material s has increased dramatically.. so why would you think their profit margin has increased ? .. they are like everybody else in the manufacturing business that can't get the products they need ...
You can't tell me that every trailer manufacturer got together on a conference call and said ...Hey let's all slow down production.. so we can create a shortage and drive up prices..
You also can't convince me that the theory of hey let's only build 3 trailers a day and charge enough to make the same as if we build 10..
Do the math you can't make that pencil out.. they have fixed overhead costs tooshooter19802003, lester and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
...and they're doing it with less overhead. They're making out like bandits.Bean Jr. Thanks this.

It all flows from the top down. Employees do what they're told. So do soldiers. They all follow orders and he higher you go, the smaller the group becomes that gives said orders. Add all that up with the billions of dollars that these corporations pay Congress to have laws passed that benefit them and it's obvious how controlled the interlocked global market is. Globalists love it. Their wet dream of a NWO/one world government is becoming a reality. It's obvious. The entire globe was shut down in a matter of like 7 days. Poof! Done.Bean Jr., shooter19802003 and jason6541 Thank this.

New trailer prices...I doubt it and even if they do, it won't be by much. Frankly, the prices of new dry van trailers were cheap for years. Cheap enough to buy new instead of used.
Used trailers prices will go down for sure. Just wait.shooter19802003, mp4694330 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -

You guys are acting like they’re all sitting back laughing and counting their money. My brother got a new cattle trailer last month and it was over 3 months behind. Why? Wilson couldn’t get lights from TruckLite. Know how many trucks Peterbilt in Sioux City is getting in 2022? 24. I’m sure they’re thrilled about that. Look at all that profit they’ll get off 24 trucks.
Maybe the new world order is paying off all the corporations to cut production to drive up prices on used equipment to cause a financial collapse of the trucking industry. -
If they could make more Trailers they would, to get the sales. Production needs volume to succeed. The more the better. I do think there’s going to be a huge glut of 2 yr and older Trucks, at great prices. But Trailers probably not. So many are needed and being used up now. Used Trailer inventory might stay tight, With prices staying high, as they’ll be needed till new Production catches up. They were back ordered before Covid. Prices were going up. We were headed for lower used prices. Now it’s all changed. Sure wish I’d bought that new Stoughton for $34k. Never see that again.
