Oh ok, I see. I always called that the "Get the hell outta my way I'm coming through" turn.

 

I'm partial to the "are you blind or stupid, get behind the line" turn myself.

 

I see the correct way as being dangerous to playing chicken with cars. And we all know it happens every day. If that were a 2 direction street.

The separated white lines being solid yellow as in the video.

 

Looks to me like you were the only truck in the correct lane.

 

No you would however use the left lane for your swing here.....difference is you leave your trailer in the right to block your right side. Yes you have to use your mirrors and yield to traffic in the left lane.

Id it was only a 2 lane you would swing out into oncoming traffic.....or are you suggesting to run down the oncoming lane to use all available real estate?

 

I learned long ago that when I get near certain company trucks my spider senses go up and I become one of the most defensive drivers on the planet.

 

I think the bottom line here is one should expect those around them to do something stupid at any given point in time.
