I respectfully disagree. I do a lot of part-changing type repairs myself. But I have learned that despite spending hour after hour driving the #### thing and thinking about what could wrong, I still end up with the wrong conclusion. So thankfully I have a guy like @wore out that is willing to take my call time after time and walk me through what the problem is. He can diagnose my truck over the phone far better than I can driving it.
Guys like him, and @Goodysnap , @pushbroom , @spsauerland , and others on here are to be commended for the love of their craft and willingness to help others.
And as one that owns heavy equipment I can tell you that trucking is not unique in this regard.

I never said all are bad, but most are worthless. I’m glad for the guys on here helping. I’ve met a guy on here that has helped me out a lot but he’s no longer on the forum.
take this as an for what it’s worth.
I needed 2 cab lights removed and silicone added to the base so as to not leak into the cab while I was on the road. I was Doing my 10 at a loves ts and I asked the road service guy if the mechanic here is good, he said yes. I walked over to the head mechanic and asked him if he can fix the leak from the light and he looked over to the service guy and the service guy had to explain it to him how to do it. Then I asked him how long it would take and what the approximate cost would be, his answer is we will see. Needless to say I walked out and never looked back.
if a mechanic can’t give you an approximate cost of repairs and time it will take than to me that mechanic is worthless.Last edited: Oct 18, 2021

I have read ahead, but it does seen like anyone was trying to determine if it was internal clutch engagement issue, or clutch releasing external of clutch pack. They tossed parts. If they are gonna do that, you better toss all parts at it.
I'm way behind on new trucks, my latest experience would be 06/09 volvo.
Have the feeling I would have tried testing on a dynometer, if you could recreate problem. -

So, last night the truck drove fine even with a trailer. Today it was fine going to the pickup. Once loaded it slipped in pretty much all gears badly. This was a little cross town test load so got it dropped off and headed to KW.
I know for sure Eaton is involved, they are who recommended the repairs yesterday.
I’ll report back with the new big plan as it comes in. The driver is hanging around there trying to see what they are going to do.
