When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross

Lay out in detail how you would run the country if you had total control to change things.

Hey I don't have any good answers to your question. But I do find the time to vote and educate myself on the issues and not let every radio jock and talking head on T.V. make up my mind for me.
I find it funny to hear some of my friends spout off about a current event using some infomation they heared on some talk show and they don't even to bother to check the facts behind the story. They just go on saying bla bla bla said this and bla bla said that. :biggrin_25526:
When I ask them where bla bla got the info all they do is give me a blank look like how could I question any thing they might have to say.
By the way I belive it was Business Week I was reading when I found that story last year. They had quoted a GAO report put out the quarter before, it seems to me it was the summer before last. I was going to my doctors quite a bit back then when I lost my index finger in a printing press.

My theory is that unbridled capitalism is like a game of monopoly. Before the game is over, either by chance, or by buying the right property, one person is going to own everything, and the few that remain in the game will rent from that person. We are headed to a point where a few will own most all businesses. If history repeats itself, either anti-monopoly laws will break up these corporations, like that will happen, or they will collapse under their own weight. In the meantime, the average person will suffer until this happens, if it happens in todays economy.

The problem on how to control this is either let things run their course, or place restrictions, which could be considered socialstic..

A 50 hr bus ride to drive for Covenant? :biggrin_2554:

Did you even try to search for another company closer?

Heck, you coud have done orientation with Swift out of Phoenix.

Or dozens of companies out of AR, NB, OK, TX?

Many that even pay airfare ...

I don't know what they told you to come - but even when I was new I knew better then that.

Because some people just cant help themselves. Everything must be made into some kind of political statement.

No, you did'nt. And don't even bother trying to tell me you did, because you and I both know you did'nt. No new driver knows any better than that. We all do the only things we think we can do when we're new because we don't know the practices of the industry well enough to know that we could do something better. Even new drivers, and certainly experienced ones, know that there are only certain companies out there that will even take a driver with no CDL and train him or one fresh out of CDL school-a lot of them, especially these days, want you to have a minimum of 6 months to a year of RECENT (within the past 12 months, usually), VERIFIABLE OTR experience or they won't even take you. We went through that ourselves way back in the day, when we were first wanting to get into trucking and had no CDL, where we had to try to find someone who would take us and train us, which of course we finally did, but it took a lot of searching and a lot of phone calls to recruiters and having a lot of companies send us their information by snail mail before that finally happened (because that was back in the days before a lot of trucking companies started putting up websites where you could just go online and find out their requirements the way you can do today). You know, you don't need to resort to white (or any other color) lies to try to make your point, which you've miserably failed to make anyway.
