Hi Everyone. First I will apologies for not being sure if this is the right forum for my question.
I am a Class 1(AZ) driver based in the UK. Lately, I have been having thoughts of moving to Canada for a new experience. I’ve got 9+ years experience on both sides of the road driving trucks.
I’ve learnt lately that Truck driving in Canada is on the noc list. I aslo know that my license can only be changed with a full G license.
I am also willing to come over to Canada and sit the AZ course since most Canadian trucking companies I have contacted provide me with employment (LMIA). My question though is that;
If I succeed in obtaining the AZ license, will it be easier for a truck company to hire me and process my PR???
Like I said before, my apologies if this isn’t the right forum. Just ignore. Thanks for Reading so far.

Pamela1990 and krupa530 Thank this. -
Also I think your about 15 years too late for the good old days of moving to Canada and driving. Many expat’s still here doing it but many have gone back. Everything I see now is not too impressive with regards to immigration and driving. I’m sure you’d have to go through a lots of hoops then you’d be competing with the “eastern type immigrants”
My advise would be to look at what your doing over there and get into a specialized sector of driving. Still plenty of really good paying jobs over therePhantom Trucker and skipgears Thank this. -

I came from Germany 14 years ago. Many things changed in the meantime.
Regarding your driver's licenses, you got it quite straight. The schooling programs did change in that regard. What the exact way is, I honestly don't know.
Yes, you need a LMIA. That's your basic status. Without that, you theoretically can't open a bank account.
As a British citizen, you might enjoy some exemptions under The Crown. -
Trust me. There will be no exemptions under The Crown.
Pamela1990 Thanks this.
