Why do local drivers think long haul drivers WANT TO BE HOME EVERY DAY/NIGHT/WEEK???

Right. Just because they do, doesn't mean we all do. Some of us like to roam constantly.
I've been to the lower 48 states, Canada, Hawaii and 32 foreign countries and still not tired of it.

Use to be you could sit in a drivers lounge or dining area and bs with other drivers. The CB was a lot of company. Miss those days

Thank you for the information. I'm in SC so I'll put Leonard's on the list.

My wife and I ran a dedicated team route for a while that had 3 day weekends, but we are back doing OTR now. We like having 2 weeks off at a time, which would never get doing line haul or local. This year we are taking 13 weeks of total, and are still making about 100k each. We can't wait to start traveling internationally again next year...hopefully.

    2. Finishing Program for recent CDL graduates features:

Our Finishing Program takes the foundation of a trucking school and develops the student into a professional driver.
      • Best training in the industry
      • Drive all across the United States hauling a variety of product(s)

As a Freymiller trainee, you will increase responsibilities, and eventually act as a first seat driver. This allows the trainee to hit the ground running after training is complete!

Company driver at Barr Nunn. Can't speak for the solo side, but it's the best team job we've ever had. We make .92 a mile with hazmat, but never haul placarded loads anymore.
