No, that's a good movie though. I'm starting to think I got it from a Louis L'Amour novel. About 10 or 11 years ago I read a bunch of his novels. His books are good, I think he's a little under appreciated in the literary world. I'd rank him right up there with Hemingway and Steinbeck.

Mr. L'Amour: I read a bunch of his stuff in my teens and 20s. unfortunately (?) he was not in a circle that caught on with the Ivy League critics.

They had no point of reference to even pretend to understand the life philosophies expanded on in his novels.

The drunks and druggies depicted in the other mention book writers.... The literati probably had some "black sheep" in their circle they could transpose in. so they could feel sorry for the broke intoxicated excrement sprawled out in the pages.

I could envision sitting down and having a cup of coffee and conversation with Mr. L'Amour.

The other 2 could not sober up enough to make it to venue, I would also likely feel inclined to punch em in the nose if they did.

I think they didn't like him because he could crank 'em out. My dad loved reading those books.
But I guess if it doesn't take you 10-15 years between novels, you're not relevant.......despite the popularity.
Another guy that writes in volume (used to anyway) was a dude name W.E.B Griffin. Mostly Army stories. Loved them.
