I’ve noticed even on new sedans and SUV’s if the car is aimed any higher than level the lights are blinding on low beam. This especially sucks at an intersection waiting for green light. But once the car is on level it’s not bright at all. Downside of the new lighting.

I really hate them. Burns my eyes at night, can make Me very sleepy quick. Wednesday night I had a Volvo with extra lights on each corner tailgating Me. I slowed and he slowed. He wouldn’t pass. I didn’t want to speed. Michigan Trooper pulled him over. That was priceless. I 96 EB just east of Lansing. Hope he got a ticket for following too close. Another thing that Id like to see enforced more. The two seem to go together. Morons. Being a Truckdriver, they have to know how aggravating it is.

Wish I could throw a bucket of random old nuts and bolts at them. They really suck on 2 lane roads through nowhere. The lights on new 4 wheelers aren't any nicer.

I noticed that my daughters new auto has auto dimming high beams. I felt they took too long to auto-dim and were to quick to turn 'em back up. A vehicle ahead didn't seem to matter if the light sensor felt it was dim enough on come the brights; traffic be dammed.

It is really bad at night, especially driving back from a day hunting or fishing when your eyes are tired. I will often use my prescription polaroid sun glasses on those nights

And remember of our most recent Road Check events was concentrated on what ? LIGHTS

I asked an inspector and he gave me some story how if they didn't have these lights on and noted by the inspector as they came into the inspection area, then they didn't write a violation. Also trucks with all the blue, green, purple lights in place of red and yellow. If they weren't running with them they didn't write it up.

How many of you have watched sets of blue lights come up behind you at night only to see it is not any kind of law enforcement or other official vehicle? How many of you are running these lights?

Lets not get started on WHITE strobe lights which are now on every type of vehicle. Talk about being blinded, drive into a construction area with every f'kin vehicle on your left and right having white strobes, white rear facing led flood lights, etc. No common sense at any level, including law enforcement/DOT.

But #### if I'm not a hazard to the public because I transposed two digits in the bill of lading number entered into my ELD .... should probably be a class I felony if not the death penalty.

    <<<deep breath>>> rant over

IF FHWA would ever get off their lazy butts, and authorize and approve the Euro standard "Matrix" or "Smart" LED headlights, we'd all be better off. Better brightness, better beam pattern, better cutoff points, even high beams don't blind other drivers, less eye strain/fatigue

I’m not so sure about that because sometimes they can be so bright that i feel blinded. And on new cars, boy I think they don’t need an option for high beam. Think the low beam on LED headlights is enough.
