Marmonman, what's the 6x4? Pardon my ignorance.
-
Only 2 transmissions that ever took a dump on me- was the stupid-10 !!!!
-
6x4 is a 6 speed with a 4 speed auxiliary. I've never even seen one. I have seen 4x4s, some with 2 sticks and some with air shift . More ratios spaced more closely with the 6x4, some heavy haulers had them and also had 2 speed drive axles.
-
6x4 is two stick two transmissions with a gear for every occasion except L.A. traffic
You drive across L.A. and you will get to about fourth and fourth at the most and have to stop and start all over !!
But out on the open road and climbing you cant beat the combo with about a 3:70 rear end combo.
Plus you look really cool shifting four times in reverse. Now that will get ya some looks !!! -
I have super 10 in my pete.It is real handy for me. When on flats or empty all I have to shift is 2 4 6 8 than 9-10 auto .Dawn shifting is just pushing the button forward. I only use the clutch when I need to change gears dawn real Quick like going dawngrade. When you shift with shifter you dubble clutch, when you shift with button all you have to do shift and take your foot off the fuel pedal. Just my 2 cents

I have a lot to learn but for ease of use you can't beat the Super 10. When I'm not towing my wife's horses I use it as a 6 speed 2-4-6-8-9-10. The biggest problem is learning to NOT rock the lever side to side in neutral.
-
Just out of curiosity, what does a super 10 do when you rock the stick back and forth in neutral?

its range shifting. just like if u kept fliping the range button up and down real fast.
