Not a Central driver so can't answer that question. 1Bad and Widow is from there and can. Think they've started a school there tho so showers should be available. DO NOT DO A TRUCK STOP IN ATLANTA!!!!!! If you stay in one stop before you get there.

I do not recommend staying at Conley. The only thing to eat within walking distance is a Wendy's and on that side of town I wouldn't walk across the street to the Chevron. The lot is pretty secure but the only thing is you can't leave unless you are going to deliver your load. They do that because they know what goes on around there. I will PM you my number and give you some ideas on where to stop depending on which direction you are coming into town. Been in GA my whole life so I feel like I can guide you in the right direction.

The chances of you getting a KW is slim to none. Those are lease trucks. Most company drivers start out in a Volvo 07 or better. I think they have all the 06 off the road and starting to pull the 07 now. Central is a good place to get your CDL and your year in. Unless you get on a dedicated fleet after your six months get your year in and get out quick. Reg OTR is horrible with Central Dedicated Company driver is the only way to stay with them for more than a year. And then it depends on the fleet. 1bad is on the Kraft fleet and even during the last 2 weeks of the holidays he has been averageing 2900 miles per week. Not so sure about the others. HOpe that helps. Good luck on getting in in March if this is the route you choose.

Get in do your year and get out!! I am seeing a lot of new upgrades in T2000, and the odd newb in a Pete or W9, if they are short on trucks the day you upgrade they will stick you in a turned in Lease truck and there are a lot being turned in right now.

Seems like we have been running in the white stuff for the last 3 weeks and yep its snowing outside now in IL

We had to take the reefer to TK last night it kept throwing up a 44 and 84 code, so we contacted our Maintenance department and they wanted us to take it to Madison WI (The load we had on was 65 degree load and temp was 7 degrees, ended up taking it to Plover WI and found out an ice chunk was blocking the fuel)

As I said get in do your year and look around for a new company, Central are the quickest way to get in the door, but the rules are getting insane.

Hey there 'widow, hope the ole "brain-bone" is doing alright today after the last evenings libations!! Seems like I recall you mentioning awhile back that you wanted to return to school, and recently the post above. Part of Obama's stimulus money has been channeled into WIA (Workforce Investment Act) grant funds made available to individual states Workforce Connection Centers. I don't know whether Ga administers their funds comparable to AZ, but here they will grant up to $4000.00 for a certified job training/re-training program. That combined with Pell Grants, if necessary, could perhaps go a long way towards achieving whatever goals you may have.
I used the same program to get my CDL through a private school here in Phoenix, and they even paid for ALL of the endorsements as well. There are a number of classes, reports and other hoops to jump through that are required before they 'fork over' the money, but I found them all surprisingly informative and worth while. You can google Georgia WIA or try this for starters: http://www.gcic.edu/gawia/Instructi...EPL_information.htm#TheWorkforceInvestmentAct. Hope you find something of use to you and the family.
Best wishes to you and Mr.1Bad. :)
