Big Wheels , talk to the safety department and explain the situation with this "trainer . Too many trainers pull this crap . How are you logging all this ? Listen to the good advice given here . Do it as you log it and log it as you do it . You need a minimum of 8 hours consecutive sleeper berth . What did they teach you about logs in school and orientation ? If you get put OOS for a log violation there is no defense . It's all on you .
I guess Covenant doesn't regularly audit logs like responsible carriers do .

Big Wheels, don't sweat. You WILL get another trainer. Sent you pm. I'm glad to know you didn't suck it up like soo many other students do. You spoke up and stuck to your guns. If only all students did like you, trainers would be more careful about their training. You did well! Hang in there man. All the best and HAPPY NEW YEAR! :yes2557:

Rickg: Thank, I soon as I got on the truck He was doing thangs with my logs. I learned how to do logs in school and orietation. also know You have to be careful what you do or you will burn up all your hours.

I would log my logs as i drove it. But the trainer would look at it and then out came the white out. Made the reply that "he had to work my logs so to get my segments done."

I asked him over and over that i was going to get in trouble for doing this. He said no he knew what he was doing. I told him that in the class room we didnt do it this way.He said this is the real world. My logs looked like a whiteout mess, his was neet.

I knew, I was in trouble when we came up to a weigh station, He told me to keep going that covenant didn't have to stop. We had the pass, It had not gone off so I started down shifting to exit. He asked me what i was doing. keep going. I told him the pass is not going off. With no instrution on what to do. He grabs his logs jump in the back closed the curtains.
I read the signs followed other trucker that knew what thay was doing. Turned off the head lights and slowly rolled up. Got a green light and a wave. And just rolled out.

He made a coment we would be in trouble if we got stopped. Started talking to me as if i did some thang wrong.(what). I knew than he wasn't doing the logs right.

As for covenant them self. They're not bad. Just a straight up job.
The staff is very professional and helpful. I gave that a test and so for they have passed.

Its this trainer that maken covenant look bad as a training company. Thier has been some very bad situation. I just used common sents and used everythang I learn at school and read to be as safe as i could.

Now with help from this forum. I got a new trainer on the way. As for as trucks they are in great shape and run great. Some of the thangs I liked about driving for covenant. Is pulling by some of others that wasn't hiring out of Florida. Like prime, swift, c r england, crst, wel, scheider, ffe, trans am just to mane a few and there are the ones that take for ever to pass. But I do get blowed off the road by alot more.

I hope you liked the use of the enter butten!!!!!!

Thanks rocks!! Just to let you know I just got a call from covenant. I got my new trainer!!

Im going to hold off of saying any names. But I talked to him on the phone just a few min ago. Not trying to be funny. I can understand him on the phone.

Asked if I had any problems with my last trainer. As I told him just a summery for what had happen. He said, That shouldn't happen on the truck. We talked about what going on and he said he'll call when he needs to talk to me. I said that you can call me anytime.

Great new for me. That wasn't a bad turn a round of kicking out the old trainer to a new one. It may take a day or two to get out. Just because we are in florida.

Bright side, I'll be home for new year.

    RickG and jtrnr1951 Thank this.

Well: Its about time to hit the road again. The trainer called today and said we be leaving soon to be ready. I called him yesterday to let him know my dad was in the ER. Tolded him Ill call when I know somethang. Are we up to leave. He said dont worry about that, Just call me tonight let me know whats going on. He said alot of Okays. But I called him to let him know they had to cut and make repairs. Which I got the voice mail. But he called the next morning at 7 am asked if thangs was alright. which he made it threw ok, But had to stay on the breathing mach untill next day. He was out cold so I didnt get to talk to him. and was lacking sleep. He said okay alot more. Then ask if I was ready to be put back on the board. I said yes! I'll go see my dad to see if he was ok and will sleep until you call( yea right). I went to say good bye to my dad. All thang was in good hands. Called my trainer let him know every thang a green light to go. He said he hasnt heard any thang yet. But well call as soon as he does. So far so good. I dont believe the last trainer would be so cool. I also know this is part of the road. Not being there when you want to all the time. I will miss alot of holidays,b-days- people getting sick. It take alot of getting use to. I am very glad i was here for this one. Lets hope there isnt any more plan to happen anytime soon. Bless you all.
