I can't trash the Love's at the 23 too much. What makes it less than terrible is the lot is a big square with all the spaces on the outside edge. Cuts down on the 3am backing miracles. It does fill up fast with aggressive bad drivers just like the rest of them, I'll give you that.

I got stuck there with frozen air lines a few years back. The KW dealer next door helped me get the truck in the shop to thaw and correct the problem, Love's was ok with the dropped trailer for a day, then the KW dealer let me use their shop truck to bring it over to their lot while they worked on the truck. Great people and service at both places.

In Gary IN a few years back. I was able to get into a tight spot but not out. Next to me was a green cab over. I knocked his mirror off. It was some time between 1 and 3 am. He caught up to me bare foot and says hey driver. I responded. Then he says you knocked my mirror off. What to you wanna do. Up Untill that question he was polite. I thought he was asking to fight so I said hold on let me get straight and park ill be right over.
I think he realised I didnt realise he was offering a cash out option. So all he said was. Just write down your insurance info after you park.
I gave it to him. He said thanks and wished me a safe ride. Now I dont talk to drivers with pre coffee, but ive been known to wake a couple up and have them move there trucks.

I never mind someone waking me up if needed... that being said its how you do it. Tap gently on the window, a bit harder each time until you wake me. I will respond kindly, with gun in hand, and move if needed.

What I hate is mofo's who BANG on the sleeper. I typically leave them banging 15-30 min before I bother to get my shoes on.

I used to stop at that Love's a few times a week and hit McDonald's. I was working overnights, wife and I were not speaking, and she wasn't cooking (or doing much else for that matter).

That all ended one night when I pulled in there and spent the better part of an hour trying to get back out. This was before they reconfigured the parking lot a few years back. Back then it was kind of a free for all, park wherever you can deal. After that I just figure there's better options in the area I travel..

I will say the people in the store were really cool.
