in Banff national park they fenced the major highways on both sides with 6 to 8 feet of page wire then built 2 major animal overpasses that the TransCanada highway goes through. The combination has caused a very significant drop in vehicle/animal accidents. I have heard that it is down from 3 per day to less than 1 per week but that was just a local RCMP officer's statement, and does not include unreported strikes and near misses which were even more.Lostkeys, jamespmack, singlescrewshaker and 6 others Thank this.
