I've got the twin of that Economy tractor all the way in the back left. Picked it up years ago at an auction for $400. 1967 vintage, 12 hp cast iron Kohler and has the hydraulic lift, but it only came with a 4' mower deck and a bug-b-gone engine. Tore it down to bare block for complete overhaul, had to go to straight .030 piston bore was worn so bad. Had many offers to buy it, apparently these are a much desired tractor for their class pulls, due to the driveline design...jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, Lostkeys and 8 others Thank this.

My buddy Tony had one with about 4 implements, found a guy in Ohio wanting a smaller tractor since he sold his farm. Tony traded it to him for a Super M with 3 point conversion and 5 implements.
You did real good for $400, those little tractors are stout as 3 rows of green onions, and very desirable to many.
Who here can remember when the pickle parks had them as a mainstay for mowing and other chores….??jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 8 others Thank this. -
Lol, pickle Park. I haven't heard that in like 12 years or more. I would have taken that super m with a smile on my face! However, I am biased on such things. I would like to find a 9n/8n with a funk conversion. Always wanted one.jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 6 others Thank this.

Now a day pickle park has a whole other meaning.
jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 6 others Thank this. -
Seen that. However, it is pretty obvious if it has a flathead v8. Plus, guys are pretty quick to point out when they do....lol. it's amazing how many of those little Ford tractors are still around in such good condition. I peruse Craigslist on almost a daily basis....because you never know and I really need another project.....lol. almost gave in and thought about getting a Facebook account just for the classifieds. Heard they are pretty good. However, I'm pretty firm on not giving into that! Screw Facebook!jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 10 others Thank this.

I wouldn't know how to spot the difference on gas powered equipment. Gas is for cleaning parts

What's a Facebook?jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 8 others Thank this. -
Lol.
All jokes aside, any Gas equipment made before 1960.....is good stuff. I would put an M up against and modern diesel of the same hp and I would bet on the M. That thing performed well above its class hands down. It was easy to work on and sipped fuel. I would venture to say it got better fuel consumption than a modern diesel. Both the M series and N series where the goto tractors of their time. I wouldnt dismiss/count out either.
Your not missing out on the Facebook thing. My wife has it because she is a women and that is what they do. It isn't for me though. Hard pass.jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 5 others Thank this. -
Yeah, almost comparable to a loves......loljamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 5 others Thank this.
