Ok here is whats going on with my 99 3406E 1LW, at 970k miles, i found coolant in oil and truck started to overheat. Took truck at local KW. They said headgasket was still good. they tested with bottle. KW didnt look where coolant entering crankcase, they were like it needs overhaul. So with almost 1 million miles i decide to go with Platinum kit plus Bendix reman air compressor, new oil cooler, new transfer pump, and cat reman turbo. Right after overhaul i noticed blowby from breather hose and oil fill plug. I did lick it. Lol Taste kinda sweet.
Im loosing about 1QT coolqnt every 4000 miles. There is no milky stuff on dipstick like when it mixed coolant with oil before overhaul but there is seam comming out from breather tube and oil fill plug
Platinum kit came with reman water pump and like i said i got reman air compressor
Cat did come over to do caunter bores but said it was in specs so didnt do them. Cat did water jackets with Belzona since they were pitted and fixed little bit pitting where Liner O rings sitts. So whats chances busted O rings on liners, or cracked reman head or air compressor or even water pump since these water pumps will leak into crankcase ? Or even cracked block i hope not
Btw Inframe was done 8k miles ago

I've always heard that after a inframe, cat needs 30 to 50k before everything seats properly. Did it have blow-by before. I'd be worried to I've seen the platinum kit prices $$$$$$

Like i said reason why i did inframe was coolant got into oil and there was a lot of blowby with coolant steaming from breather hose. This time there is blowby but not much. Nothing coming of of breather hose just seam, and i did put finger inside hose and lick it, sweet. My coolant is red ELC. Before when i bought it did have some blowby but not even close as right now. Before never used oil but did used little bit of coolant. Maybe 1/2 every 4 weeks. I understand cat needs to seats properly but that was for piston rings and oil lubbed parts right? I dont think there isntt enything to seats in for coolant ???

Who did the engine work? Sadly that kind of coolant consumption is going to be "acceptable" by CAT. I would do oil samples every change to keep an eye on contaminates.

Only loosing a quart of coolant in 400 miles?
Run it longer and see if the coolant loss stops. Maybe it just doesn't like being that full

I would run it for longer, then do an oil sample and see if you have coolant in oil.

You can burn coolant through the turbo with no signs of leaks, maybe the reman turbo is bad?

Just see if you lose alot of coolant, could be a small leak somewhere

When I had my 94 5EK series, the radiator didn’t like being full to the top either like mentioned already. If I filled it to the top, it would puke slowly then stop. When I checked the radiator level, it would stay roughly about an inch from the top and stay there.
For your 411, I believe they like the green coolant, not red. That would be for a 1LW, just saying.
