I go by Bootlegger, a nickname given by some friends in our car club after a late night discussion of unique family heritage. The girlfriend goes by RumRunner.

A lifetime ago in Rhode Island and Virginia I went by Wanderer.

I go by Bear Bait, anymore. I got that handle from a team partner I had at that big orange freight hauling company. I was telling my wife about it, the other night and she definitely agreed.

For the story behind it, it goes something like this ...

I had a whole 3 months experience when I teamed up with a 15 year driver. Being a senior driver like he was, he got all kinds of cool #### to play with. His current truck, when I teamed with him, was a Freightliner Century with a C-12, dual stacks, and 71mph. The story I got was Catapillar told the big orange, "run the truck at 70 or we don't cover warranty work." So, we had a 71mph company truck. Needless to say I'd run 71mph on the interstate, everywhere.

So, we changed out # the East St. Louis AmBest (before Pilot bought 'em out), and he said, "go ahead and stop in Indy."

I said, "####, we're going to Columbus (OH), so I'll just get you up, there."

"No, you're not going to make it to Columbus." Is what I told him.

"Look, Illinois is 55 for trucks, Indiana is 60 for trucks, and Ohio is 55 for trucks, there's no way." He told me. "You won't make it very far past Indy, so just wake me up when we get to the terminal, I want to take a shower anyway."

So, we took off. 71mph across IL. 71 across IN and 71mph towards the Buckeye.

Just to the west of Columbus, the curtain opens. "How far from the OC are we?"

I tell him, "####, dude, we're 15 minutes from Columbus."

He got kind of irked about not stopping in Indy. So, to make a long story not as long, he said, "they're gonna end up biting your ### HARD one day and it's gonna hurt."

I told him, "well, I've figured out that if you don't pass a SNI in a slow state, you'll be okay."

He looked in the mirror and said, "they're not passing you because you're a SNI truck, they're not passing you because your Bear Bait."

Well, the name stuck the rest of the time we were together. With my wife agreeing with the story, the handle's stuck as well.

I am Aileron. I used to be a navy pilot years ago. One day I was doing a walkaround on my jet and there was another pilot in the seat. Well apparently he had to pee real bad and felt I was taking to long. When he turned in the seat to see where I was, his leg hit the stick and moved the flight control I was standing by. The Aileron came down hitting me in the head, broke my helmet and knocked me out cold. I woke up hours later in the infirmary. When I arrived back at my squadron, Aileron way painted on my bird and I have used it ever since. Unfortunately, many people have no idea what an aileron is, and many more can't pronounce it.

Normally a cb handle is given to you by someone else, its not suppose to be something you give yourself. Mine is Hiltop and it was given to me because I had a Motorola Radio Business with repeaters on top off mountains. I used to spend alot of time on top of hills. One of the guys that used to work for me gave it to me.

In the '80's my handle was "Highway Star". Now I go by "doglips", because I don't need a tough guy image, and if you want to make a joke, it put's the ball in your court. It's fun and it's original. Look closely at a dogs lips sometimes. See what kind of reaction you get.

I go by Butterdog. It would take me too long to explain the reason here.
