Step all fixed up. Could probably use a new strap but I think I got it straight enough for what it is? 1598C819-451B-4C3F-A988-B890C89CD265.jpeg 66FB0B13-56CC-4770-8884-49DAC5005D6B.jpeg 151EF283-86B4-4224-8863-4B6FB99CC5CE.jpeg 27542C0A-6450-4850-91F6-0DF8942E9E5B.jpeg

In other news one of the things I really wanted to do when I got my new trailer was to reset the bearings. Well as I suspected since I didn’t do it , It started getting wear on 6 of the 8 tires. Finally jacked it up today and 3 of the 4 were visibly lose. And the one that was tight the tires are perfect. So much for 5 years maintenance free wheel ends? Crap, that sucks. Now it's making me paranoid about my new one. Are your tires still good or are they trashed?

No there still good but clearly getting worn on the tires edges of 3 of the axle ends. I’ll post pictures when I get back to my trailer of what I’m talking about.
If you Jack up a wheel end and put a pry bar under it you can feel it. But, you shouldn’t be able to see it is my opinion.

They look like this. My opinion is this is absolutely loose wheel bearings. 2DE050B3-D0AD-4873-BD3E-22D7ACFDEA9B.jpeg Backed up by the fact the one that was tight had no irregular ware.

Had a rental trailer doing that a while back ago. Never did get it fixed but took trailer back. I figured it needed to be aligned but now I know. Thanks for tip

Alot of that wear pattern also has to do with tires turning alot. When you turn it wears the leading edges off. It is super noticeable on spread axles. Especially those with no dump valve.

Edit: so 1 out of 4 was tight?

    Rideandrepair and Pamela1990 Thank this.
