"TurboTrucker" has posted on this subject before, and a lease/purchase is according to him a very easy way for a driver to loose everything he has. Turbo is a very experienced trucker and I would suggest you use the search option and look up his post, he goes into great detail on how the agreements will rip a driver off, and that you need an attorney to keep from getting taken advantage of.
I know he is out on the road right now but I will make him aware of your question and when he gets a moment I am sure he will explain things to you, and help you to NOT make a huge mistake.

I have been a company driver and an owner operator, but I would not even consider a lease purchase program. If you want to buy your own truck thats fine, but buy one thru a reputible dealer and finance it thru, the dealership or better yet thru your bank.To me the lease purchase programs are a rip off.The trucking company controls your loads, how much money you make, etc. If you buy your truck on your own you control your destiny. You have the right to pull your truck away from whoever you are leased to at any time,so you are much more your own boss. You can lease YOUR truck to almost any of the large truckin companies out there and it is usually a pretty good deal.I had mine leased to the old MS Carriers. They licensed my truck, paid for tolls, scales, permits, got me a good price on insurance, was able to use their fuel service at terminals as well as on the road.all of these things save you a lot of money over a years time.Plus I was not tied down to that company.I could lease it to whomever I wanted to.Just my 2cts worth.

i figure banks don't sell trucks for a reason. for the same reason, trucking companies ought not to finance trucks.

    however..............

there is still more than enough bright eyed goofballs who have no clue of what they are getting into, and what is going to happen to them.

Don't do it.......... never lease a tuck from the same company that is going to dispatch you. Seperate the two actions. ALWAYS
