Hello, just joined up a few minutes ago and wanted to wave a hand..I've been long haul trucking since 1994 and are an ex-owner/op, for the past seven years I was driving for a Landstar owner/op..
Currently taking a break from the grind but just about to start looking for another company pretty quick as the money is starting to run low !!
Mike.

Welcome to the forum Mike and welcome back to the grind. I'm a Wannabe so I really don't know what the grind is all about yet. Seems a lot of folks like it though!

Upstate NY covers a lot of area. What town, city? I lived in Rochester for 4 1/2 years in the early 90s. I loved it. It's a beautiful city, the transit system is awesome and I found the people to be really friendly once I learned how to approach them. I'm from the South and folks down here are maybe a little over-friendly but they mean well. It's just the way we are. I found Rochesterians to be receptive to newcomers as long as you didn't get right in their face. Still have friends there that I'll make it a point to see if I ever get on the road. My dad was raised in Tupper Lake and Scaneateles (-50 for spelling).
