This truck that I'm in (2021 international LT) came with sirius built in to the audio system. The wife decided as a birthday present to activate it for me. Yay. However, I've been experiencing an issue and wanted to see if anyone else might be having this issue. Driving down the road, it will blank out like I've entered a tunnel, but I don't get the signal loss message. It will stay off for about five to ten minutes then come back on for a few minutes then go off. The radio is still on, just no music or talk. The other bands function perfectly. The only way I've found to get it work properly is to turn off the truck and then turn off the battery disconnect, essentially resetting everything. Anyone else having these issues?

Have you tried having the satalite signal refreshed? They can do it if you call customer service, or you can do it yourself if you have the app. That would be the first thing I would try.

Yeah that was one of the first things I tried. It's like it is getting the signal cause the display still shows the channel artist and title. Signal shows maxed out, but there is no audio. I timed it. Can listen for about 3 minutes, goes off for two plays for another 3 minutes or so.

Does it do that even when you are parked in an open area? If so it sounds like an hardware issue, hopefully still under warranty.

I would call and talk to customer service first just to make sure it's not on their end.

I am beginning to think it is something in the radio itself, as I can listen to the AM and FM bands without this happening. The wife had a hard time getting it activated with sirius, as they kept saying they couldn't find the radio id in their system. They had never heard of a Navistar radio (honestly neither had I)

I have had satellite radio since 2006 and the only time I would lose signal for more than a couple of seconds is when I am in the mountains or going through a tunnel. I don't think I have ever lost signal for 3 minutes unless I was sitting somewhere that it was blocked. And I am still using a 15 year old portable radio.

Yeah just like directv I know anything that obscures a line of sight is going to block signal. I've been in this truck over a year now. When I got into it in 20, they told me this is a 21. I've put over 160k on it but I don't think the warranty on the radio is but 3 maybe 6 months tops.

Did you get any books with the truck, the radio usually has its own manual and that should outline the warranty details. I would think it would be at least a year.

May not be worth trying to get it replaced under warranty even if it is covered. If you are sure it's the radio I would probably just go ahead and pickup a portable radio and have the subscription transferred to that.

It's definitely not as clean as the factory radio but you may be able to access more channels. Many of the newer radios have the ability to pause, and move forward and backward within the stream.

Another option is to use the app, which may be advantageous as there are quite a few channels only available on the app, and I believe the subscription is cheaper. Of course that may not work for you if you run through lots of areas with poor cell phone signal, or your phone data plan has a cap.

If you do decide to transfer your subscription to another radio they will try to charge you a transfer fee. Usually if you threaten to cancel they will usually waive it. And never pay full price when you go to renew, always haggle with them and if they don't budge threaten to cancel. Whenever it's time to renew for me I just go to straight to saying I want to cancel, then they ask why and I tell them it's too expensive. They then start giving me thier current deals and promotions that are running, definitely takes some time, usually about an hour but it saves me quite a bit of money.

    Hope this helps.

The manual is here in the truck. If I can remember where I put it lol. I thought getting a portable and the app is free since the wife has two paid subscriptions (her jeep and the truck) I have "unlimited" data on my phone, but the provider is AT@T so, yeah lol

Your problem is with the antenna. It's not receiving a clear signal, which results in 'buffering'. Try using the app on your phone.
