This company has intentionally tried to ruin us. My husband went to work for them in March of 2009. Shortly after he got hurt and it took them 3 weeks to get him to the doctor. Then the insurance company refused to pay him or his medical bills. After three months the doctor released him and when he tried to go back to work they said it was going to take a couple of weeks. Finally they took him as an O/O. At first the checks were ok but have steadily gone down. Then he got bit by a brown recluse spider that was in one of their trailers and when he got home we went to the doctor. He wouldnt let him work for two weeks because of the medication he was on. Now that he is back at work for a month the only paycheck he has gotten was today for $26 dollars. When he called them all they could say was "you shouldnt have taken off two weeks" and laugh about it.
When I read the contract it had a Power of Attorney in it. But that power of attorney is no good because in the state of Nebraska it has to be witnessed by 2 people and it wasnt. That makes the contract void from the day it was signed.
Dont work for this company. They will try to ruin you like they are trying to ruin us.

BeerHauler you have no idea what you are talking about. I have been doing this for over 25 years.

If he owns his own truck why not cut your losses and go to another company?
-
Lease owner.
-
Thanks for clarifying that.

Regardless of it all, it is still a sad and routine situation ESPECIALLY during the current times it seems. I'll admit that trucking has really changed in the time i have been in it,both drivers and the companies.

how does it make it a bad company to work for when he's the one getting hurt and being unable to perform his trade.
any medical problems are workman comp. and or occidental acc. ins if he is truck owner/leaser. -
Bigray I was just getting ready to ask that very thing when I saw your post. So that makes two of us that want to know the answer to this question.
