Hello everyone! I am new to the trucking business. I have my CDL, and I just recently purchased my first 18 wheeler. I signed it on with my sisters logistics company & it runs under her authority. But so far my weekly settlements are not even enough to cover my fuel cost, let alone my monthly truck payment. Also, I find that by checking the ELD app my truck to be sitting somewhere for up to four days at a time and not on the road.
Is this normal at first? The truck has been running almost 2 months now.
Should I find a different company to sign it onto? And if so, does anyone know any logistics company and the Southeast region (Mississippi Gulf Coast) that also provides a driver? I have a full-time job, and cannot drive the truck myself.
Thank you for any help and advice in this situation!

You ain't gonna make it as an owner with 1 truck, paying a driver, fuel, insurance, tags, and then leasing on to someone else.

Sell the truck before the market falls, cause either you've fooled yourself, or been fooled.

    DRTDEVL and Hawkeye72 Thank this.
