The only person to blame is yourself, If you don't like the job, grow some balls and leave. Theres plenty of jobs, no reason to take crap, unless you just like the taste.

I did a ups load about 10 years ago I was blown away when yard dog opened doors on a pup trailer and a pile of packages fell out the back. I was thinking he would be pissed about picking them up . Nope he wasn’t mad at all he just backed over them is all.
kylefitzy, Kyle G., VIDEODROME and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ironically, a the other day a big bag of unsecured load straps fell out.kylefitzy, Kyle G., bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -
Was transferred back to Kimberly Clark on 12hr night shift and given a small raise.
Some good news is I just had a doctor appointment and my weight is down almost 30 pounds after quitting my road driving job earlier this year. I have also been working on my diet and decided to quit alcohol. Also trying low carb eating and quit sugar. I had a sweet snack habit from my road driving time I needed to kick.
I still think Fayard has lowball wages for this type of work and Kimberly Clark sucks, but I'm at least heading toward lifestyle goals. I just now got to 215 pounds.Last edited: Nov 11, 2021
Still undecided, Kyle G., Magoo1968 and 2 others Thank this. -
We have 6 switchers, three dedicated to major customers and 3 running around a little over a square mile pulling empties.
4 are new TICO units and they are pretty good, good A/C and heat, LED lights. you can check all fluids from the ground.
We got away from lease turn in units, most came form the seaport and rust like mad. For every 'good' driver we went thru 2 or 3 three. T
Tico dealer provides a loaner when servicing the units we have. Maintenance is key.
A number of our guys came from lazy spot over pay and equipment condition. We pay them the same as all of our LTL guys which makes happy drivers. -
How much does that pay , how many moves a day , Thanks.

Besides being boring AF, and at times BUSY AF, the thing that pisses me off about jockeying is the jockey trucks themselves:
The idiots who designed them (looking at you ottawa.....) must think anybody who works as a jockey must be under 5'6"!
i'd venture to say at least 50% of people working as jockeys are OVER 5'7". DUHHHHHH...........
But yeah, overall, i think jockeying is a good gig IF you can get over the boring part---thank goodness for iphones.Kyle G. Thanks this. -
I did it for awhile at less than 50 docks warehouse solo, did lots of reading and waiting for the radio. They wanted them moved ASAP so nothing but sitting in truck. I actually liked it but most would die of boredom, this was before smart phones/iPads so it's probably even easier now.

I did this for 2 years, even before getting a CDL so obviously it did not count as driving experience for me.
