Ive been looking at werner quite a bit as well. I have done tons of research talking with werner driver and reading post on here. It appears they like to put new guys in regional. Regional is a few cents less per mile than otr, then you run where the frieght is, all 48 states. So when going into it, you have to ask if you are willing to run otr at regional pay. If I am wrong someone please tell me, this is not my personal experience, but it is what I have been told on here. They have lots of pros to with this those.

That's true to a point. I'm western regional but I may run a little ways out of my region. I don't ever go into the eastern region.

Yes I was in the Teams. I went through BUDS Class 63 during the End of the Vietnam war and did not get the opportunity to go over there.

Got an e-mail yesterday from a recruiter stating that my application was pre-approved. They are just waiting for my back ground check. He said that I will be going to Fontana for orientation. Any comments as what to expect when I get there. He also told me that since I have some experience that I will not have to have the full 300 hours for training.

Hut; Thank you for your service. I am 58 and was in the USAF and you know no one thanked us back then. Like you I didn't serve in Vietnam but was ready if they sent me. Sometimes I feel weird because I wasn't sent and other times glad I didn't have to go. Good luck in your new career--I'm still on the sidelines.
