Hi I was just looking at the engine of my company truck and noticed the fuel filter canister was full of fuel. It's a Cummings isx15 which normally uses a fleetguard fs19765 filter. The filter they have in right now is ff5369. The fuel level is showing all the way to the top practically. The truck is running fine did they put the wrong filter in on purpose is the one that they are using okay to use and why is it showing full?
Did they install the wrong fuel filter?

FS 19765 is replacement for Davco on Paccar and Cummins.
Specs= 10 micron
Length =6-5/16
I. D. = 21/32
O. D. =4-3/16
FF 5369 is Davco replacement for Cat and Detriot.
Specs= 4 nominal 20 absolute microns
Lgth = 6-29/32
I. D. =21/32
O. D. = 3-3/4.
Cummins has always been traditionally 10 micron spec with fuel for 70 years.I know Higher number would not hurt the old NSeries with PT pumps. Not sure about new fuel system tho. -
Shouldn’t hurt anything but may cause the engine filter to plug faster. Slap your PM guy and cross part numbers, don’t just put it in cuz it looks the same.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
I tried getting my oil changed last week first shop didn't have the FS19765 or any other fleetguard filters I use in stock.
Second shop had the filters but no Rotella oil.
Parts/Oil/Filters are in short supply right now.
Sounds to me like they used what they had available for your truck.Oxbow and little cat 500 Thank this.
