Any owner Operator using a dash cam these days ? I'm thinking about getting one but with all the cams on the market and not being all that tech savvy I thought it would be best to ask around.

    if any are using...?
Yeah, it is a must have thing, if you ask me. I am using Garmin Dash Cam 67W. Simple and no issues so far.

Thanks for the replies. I will look into them as I use KT for logs and really don't want to use them for a dash cam and be locked into a monthly contract.

I think that KT contract is annual, even though you can pay for it on monthly basis. Besides, their dash cam, from what they told me, records things and they have it on their server too. I don't know if I want to share every visual second of my whereabouts. Even though they have it from the GPS but they already are spying too much with other stuff...like whenever you go over the speed limit or break hard...which may not even be accurate.
Yeah, I would buy my own 'independent' dash cam and there is a huge variety to choose from.

Any owner op who doesnt have a cam is quite frankly an idiot. Too many things happen and to many "hammers" out there to NOT have a cam. No cam and a wreck = driver gets blamed 99% of the time.

    That said go garmin

I have the Garmin Dash Cam 55... it does a good job of being able to see who cause an accident

    but

if I was in a hit and run situation... it’s not “HD Enough” to catch not even two or three characters on a license plate at a good distance

I’m willing to invest $800 or so for a real good high end dash cam if there’s any recommendations

Garmin for the win. It's the only camera I've ever had that has never crashed and I've had every one under the sun, including GoPro's.

The phone software for the newer 67w sucks ###, but the camera itself is pretty reliable.
